I absolutely love to entertain and summer parties are my favorite!!! We have a great big screened in porch and a nice secluded backyard...well for the most part...so I'm always looking for ways to spruce up the parties and make them more Martha Stewart-y. Well, where better to go than MarthaStewart.com?? I spent hours looking at ideas and recipes and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!! I won't be throwing a Fourth of July party this year because I'll be attending a pool party that day but you better believe I'll be bringing some fun appetizers and of course cupcakes! Maybe they will let me help decorate? Fun!! :)
Rubber band ID's for glasses! Genius!!
Wrap different colors of tissue paper around glass candle holders!
Thyme Lemonade...yummy!!
What is your favorite way to decorate for summer parties??
Makes me want to join in the fun - love organising parties! I had thyme lemonade the other day, it was also with lemongrass (I think) and it tasted fantastic - the perfect drink for hot summer days.
ReplyDeleteHi honey! How fun are these ideas! I am loving how they presented the lovely ceviche (is that what you think it is?) in the glass tureen, you can see all the yummies inside! The melon balls look delicious, I love those knotted bamboo picks, they are sort of hard to find in stores so I stock up on them when I find them. :) The thyme lemonade looks so refreshing! YAY for summer party planning!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI agree with Trish that the thyme lemonade sounds AMAZING!! Those red, white, and blue drink umbrellas are adorable. Hmmm, where do you think I could find some of those?
ReplyDeleteSo fun! That thyme lemonade, amazing. I want to come!! I always decorate with food! hah, if the food looks good I stop there, otherwise, I panic and light some candles.
ReplyDeleteI love summer parties! These are great! My bf's family had a white party one summer where they all wore white and played croquet etc. They also had a lobster party and those invites would have been so cute for it!
ReplyDeleteCute cute. My summer rule is that everything has to be comfortable, with lots and lots of candles!
ReplyDeletethe thyme lemonade... thats looks so so so inviting!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely table settings! I will take 1 of each!! You have amazing and fun taste.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the parties you throw this year.

I love screened in porches! Martha always has such good ideas :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting about your party! These are all brilliant ideas (especially the rubber bands!). I'm throwing a baby shower for a girlfriend in August and I've been looking all over for some decoration ideas. I've found some good ones on Martha Stewart too and also on Hostess with the Mostess.

ReplyDeleteI get her mag..it is amazing and FULL of ideas too. Love that rubber band idea for the glasses.
ReplyDeleteAll the makings of the perfect backyard party - what wonderful ideas! I'm sure you are the perfect hostess!
ReplyDeleteThe pic of the fourth of july setting is gorgeous! Check out Rachael Ray's website for a great recipe/ setup for a clambake done on the grill! Wish we could all get together someday for a summer cookout :)
ReplyDeletePictures looks lovely.

Seriously, I'm going to steal a bunch of these ideas! The rubber band ID's and the plants/herbs in the middle of the table are so cool! This is why I love you, you always have the best ideas!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not having a Fourth of July party this year either- it's my 30th birthday on that day, so I'm having a me party!
ReplyDeleteThese ideas are so cute! I have actually gone off cupcakes - gasp! The horror of it! - I tried to eat one this morning and I couldn't finish it; it was way too sweet. That's happened a few times now. What on Earth is wrong with me?!? ;-)
Gorgeous ideas all! Funny, I love to entertain, but rarely do so in the summer ... perhaps because I don't have a back yard! LOL
ReplyDeleteI really prefer to entertain in the cooler months and tend to throw most of my parties in the fall and winter.
Really love that thyme lemonade. So pretty too!
Very lovely! My fiance and I live in a condo, meaning a very tiny yard! He doesn't like to have to keep up with yard work. We plan to purchase a house when we have kids. We'll see how that goes :).
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog, btw.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, marthastewart.com...my favorite place to go! I love summer parties and you have found some great ideas here! I love the tissue paper candle holders...and the thyme lemonade sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteThose candles with tissue paper wrapped around them couldn't get any cuter. I honestly might have to make a trip to the craft store and try it out for myself!
ReplyDeleteVery cute ideas!
SUCH great ideas... especially the rubber band ID and the flowers attached to candle vases...
