Pearl Giveaway!!!!! CLOSED

It's been quite a while since I've done a giveaway and I do believe y'all deserve one!!

A couple of weeks ago I attended my first Premier Designs party. Have y'all ever been to one or seen their jewelry?? I wasn't expecting much...but the minute I saw the beautiful jewelry I was in LOVE! The best thing about their jewelry is how you can change the necklaces around and get about 10 designs out of them! You can add things, twist them, clip them...etc. Of course I hosted my own party the next week and it was so much fun!

Here are a couple of my favorite items from them!

Main Event Necklace

{regular}

{twisted}

{extended with Pearls Night Out pinned on it}

Opening Night Necklace

{90" long pearl strand...endless possibilities. Okay not endless...but there's a lot!)

{folded in half, twisted and clipped in the back}

{doubled with Pearls Night Out pinned on it}

Okay now for the giveaway!!!!! I'm giving away Alpha, a beautiful pearl bracelet from Premier Designs. It's 7 1/2" with a tounge-in-box closure.

I miss...

Good morning!!!!!! Did anybody else get a snow day yesterday?? It was supposed to be my first day back to school but school was cancelled! We got about 6" of snow and some freezing rain later. I had so much fun riding around with my husband, doing donuts in the parking lots, sledding, having snowball fights with the neighbors...it really got me reminiscing. There are so many things I miss about the good old days...

I miss...  my Charlotte Hornets.

I miss...  eating anything I want and not gaining a pound.

I miss...  scrunch socks and slap bracelets.

I miss...  good customer service.

I miss...  pagers. The fun cases...the "text" messages to friends...(143, 411, 911)

I miss...  Super Nintendo. Mario Kart was my fave!! I was always the little turtle guy. He was the fastest!!

I miss...  when I actually enjoyed crowds and tons of people. Now I just want to scream when I'm in a crowded place.

I miss...  *Nsync and Spice Girls! Now that was good music. :)

I miss...  when the movies or the roller skating rink was THE place to be on Friday nights.

I miss...  my blonde hair. Thinking of going back but I know it's a lot of work.

I miss...  when every day after school you could find me on my bike.

I miss...  that butterfly feeling I always got when I was first dating my husband. :)

What do y'all miss??

Flashback Friday!

On Christmas Eve, my dad and my brother came to our house for dinner and to watch It's a Wonderful Life. We had such an awesome time!!! My dad brought a huge box full of old pictures and we had a blast looking through them and laughing at each other! I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorites with y'all!!

Wearing my Paw-Paw's boots! I guess I was destined to be a line dancer!! ;)

HAHAA!!! This picture cracks me up everytime I look at it! What is with these hats?! I'm the goober on the left in case you didn't pick that up. :)

A true vintage Coke shirt!! I see them everywhere now but this here is an original. Hahaha

Hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!!! :)

Gluten-Free *week one update*

Hi guys!!! Hope y'all are all waking up on the right side of the bed this morning. ;) I know I gave a semi update on my gluten free status yesterday...but I wanted to do a full post on it today with a few extras. I will try to do this once a week for those who are interested in becoming gluten free with me!!

Week One: Improvements

My skin is clearing up!!

(Yep that's it so far but I'm not giving up that easy!)

Week One: Favorite Gluten-Free Foods

-Yoplait Whips! yogurt (Have y'all had these?? They are like mousse and taste like you're eating dessert! YUM!)

-Carrot sticks and garlic hummus

-Eggs over medium and grits...yep together. ;)

-Wendy's Chili and Baked Potato with chives....okay and the Frosty!

-Grilled salmon with my homemade sour cream/dill sauce, steamed asparagus and quinoa

-Chocolate!

-Nachos (corn tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, chili)

-Steak Asada Tacos (grilled steak, lime, cilantro, onions, chipotle sauce on corn tortillas) SO GOOD!

Week One: Gluten-Free Recipe to try

Gluten Free Pumpkin Coconut Custard   (I read that pumpkin is super good for you and I wanted to find a good gluten free pumpkin recipe. Doesn't this sound DELICIOUS?! I can't wait to try it!)

Week One: Gluten-Free Link

Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef  -  Anytime you search for gluten free...you will find this blog! I believe she came out with a book too! I can't wait to try out some of her many recipes!!

Week One: Thoughts

I am so excited about how easy this transition has been for me. I was so scared to try it and I just put it off thinking that I could never do it. I'm so glad that I got over that and tried it out. It's actually VERY easy. I haven't been having a hard time with it at all and you won't find someone who likes to eat as much as me!! I am having fun finding all kinds of new foods and recipes. I can't wait to see what else starts improving!!!

I am pondering giving up dairy for a while too to see if that helps me even more. I know that I'm somewhat lactose intolerant but not terribly so. It will definitely be a bit harder to be gluten-free AND dairy-free. I am trying to cut it back slowly for now and I will try going off of it completely at a later time.

Anyone who is looking to start going gluten free...click here for some info. Remember to ALWAYS check with restaurants and look at ingredients before assuming something is gluten free. They add that junk to EVERYTHING!

what i'm loving wednesday!

Good morning!!! I'm so excited to be blogging again and I couldn't WAIT for Wednesday so I could join in on Jamie's WILW! Thank you guys so much for the outpouring of love I received on yesterday's post. It's been hard but it's getting better and I appreciate every single one of your nice words. Love you guys!

I am loving...Ollie's Coach collar. I bought it for her when she was a puppy and it never fit her. I remembered it a couple of days ago and it fits now! Woohoo!! Oh and don't mind her attitude. She gets that way when I take pictures of her.

I am loving...that I was given a free ticket for two to the premiere of Country Strong and a super stylish hat! ;) The premiere is tonight and I'm so excited!! (and no...I'm not wearing my hat tonight...hahaha)

I am loving...my new Kate Spade phone cases!! They were 60% off of already marked down prices so I think I paid about $9 each! The handbags were up to 60% off as well!! I carried 3 of them around on my arm for around 45 minutes trying to decide which one to purchase when I remembered that my car's oil thingy broke on the way to the beach. Unfortunately...my car is more important than handbags. Boo.

I am loving...that my face is clearing up on this gluten free diet!! I developed some crazy itchy blister like rash on my jaw about 2 months ago and I've tried EVERYTHING! Injections, steroids, antibiotics, cortizone cream, Proactiv, prescription creams and gels...nothing even thought about clearing this junk up. Dermatologists and doctors called it acne but I know it's different. Anyway, I've been on the gluten free diet for 8 days and it's already clearing up!! It's so amazing and wonderful! I hope it keeps up. I'll make sure to do an update on the diet. I also got a few requests for "what I can eat" posts so I look forward to doing those!! :)

I am loving...all the different ways I can wear my Premier Designs necklace. They have the prettiest jewelry!! (Be sure to check back here next week...I MIGHT be giving away a Premier Designs piece...hehehe)

 I am loving...my new Levi's. They are SOOO comfortable!! I got these this weekend and I'm seriously tempted to wear them every day!

My hubby says he loves the jeans and white tee look. I guess I need to start rocking that more often! :)

What are y'all loving today??

In my heart is where I'll keep you friend.

This New Year's weekend not only brought happiness my way...but it also brought tears. I don't know if y'all remember me writing about my good friend Frances that had lung cancer and beat it... Well, a year later she started having headaches and became very disoriented. They found that the cancer had spread to her brain.

(Her victory walk after beating lung cancer)

We lost her on Saturday morning. It's been so hard for me...much harder than I thought. I keep thinking "She isn't coming back..." I feel guilty for not calling her enough...visiting her enough. I know she's in Heaven now and that brings me peace. I hope she is smiling down at me and knows that I miss her very much. I love you Frances and I'll see you when I get there.

"For I know the plans I have for you..."

"They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11

Happy New Year!!!!! I hope y'all had a fantastic New Year's and are all safe and sound! We had a fabulous time at the beach and I can't wait to share pictures. :)

I don't usually do New Year's resolutions...but this year just seemed like a good year for 'em! With so many changes going on in my life (and me being a crazy list maker), I thought I'd list them...mostly just to hold myself accountable. It helps. :)

1. Stay gluten-free!

2. Make straight A's in school and dedicate myself to learning as much as possible and graduating ASAP.

3. Stick to my recently formed budget.

4. Take my poor dog for a walk.

5. Don't take 3 month long breaks from my blog. I missed y'all!!!

6. Exercise at least 3 times per week.

7. Join in on Project 365 with Kit at A Step into My Life by taking one picture every day of the year! How fun will that be?! I hope I can remember to do it!

8. Take ballroom dancing lessons.

Okay well I think that's enough for one year don't you?

How cute is this quote I found?

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other. ~Author Unknown

Now I want to hear some of your resolutions!
